An elderly retired actress tragically lost her life when her Los Angeles home was destroyed by raging wildfires.

Curry, affectionately known as ‘Momma D’ by her family, had a notable history in Hollywood.
She appeared as an extra in iconic films such as The Ten Commandments, The Blues Brothers, and Lady Sings the Blues.

California first responders discovered her remains on Sunday evening, a finding later confirmed by her great-granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, via a social media update.
Kelley, who served as her great-grandmother’s caregiver, had last seen Curry when she brought her home from the hospital days earlier.
Kelley described the scene as apocalyptic, with the fire reducing the property to ashes and leaving behind only remnants of Curry’s belongings, including a damaged Cadillac.
“About an hour ago the coroner confirmed her remains were found at the property,” she wrote on Sunday evening.
“It was total devastation,” Kelley told ABC7. “Everything was gone except her blue Cadillac.”
